March is the perfect in-between time, when the sun is out longer, early spring flowers are peeking out above the ground, and the chill of winter sticks around in the early morning and evening. This month is the ideal time to check in, conduct a life audit, and refresh your home.

Pick a day or weekend and set it aside to deep clean. Move your furniture around and vacuum corner to corner; and take advantage of a spontaneous room rearranging if you want. Dust and wipe down every surface, then open your windows and air out your space. Light a candle or use a room spray.

Go to the grocery store and get yourself some fresh fruit. While you’re at it, grab some greens and vegetables and make some nutrient- rich, vitamin- packed meals to celebrate the coming of warmer weather and fresh produce.

Set a few achievable goals, ones that add to your life instead of taking away from it. It’s all in the framing. “Walk a 5k” is less of a chore and more specific than “lose weight”. Plan to get dinner with friends, buy fresh flowers, or go to a farmer’s market- then get out and do it.

Take a day to review your finances. Unsubscribe from services and subscriptions you no longer need or enjoy, re- evaluate your budget, and balance your accounts. Embrace your finances without stress- the changes you make today are the results you’ll appreciate three months from now.

If you can, take a day trip this month. Changing your environment can do so much for your mental and emotional state. Pack a bag and get out of the house, whether it’s somewhere new or familiar. From cherry blossom festivals to St. Patrick’s Day parades, many places have celebrations anyone can enjoy. Walk around, enjoy the fresh air, and return home pleasantly tired.

Pick up an old craft or hobby, or start a new one. Create something that brings you joy and reminds you of your own abilities and potential. Remember how little it takes to make you feel truly happy.

Rest and refresh. Stick to your skin- and self- care routines, start rewatching a comfort show, and prioritize your bedtime routine. Enjoy your comfy clothes and the feeling of clean sheets at the end of a long day.

Make time to appreciate the small moments- seeing the sunrise, appreciating your first sip of coffee in the morning, or noticing the coming signs of spring around you.
