WHY AM I A MENTOR?
I want to help people have a somewhat easy transition into the field or give them guidance, motivation, etc. I understand first hand blindly finding my way through the creative industry and having to learn some very challenging (and at the time seemingly unnecessary) pivotal lessons lol. I also think it's extremely important to pass information around. Gatekeeping is a very real thing and I've realized that it does much more harm than it does good.
HOW CAN I SUPPORT YOU?
I can help my mentee by giving them the tools (advice, guidance, etc) they need in order to make decisions that benefit them and if I ever come to a point where my help has reached a stopping point or they need more than I can provide, I can point them in the right direction to someone who can.
EXPERIENCE
Hey, My name is Nyasia Sylvester and I'm an artist in all senses of the word. A little unconventional, versatile, sensitive and ever-changing. I'm a visual creator that specializes in photography but I dabble in a little bit of everything from painting, writing, cataloging & Art directing just to name a few. For 7 years I stumbled around trying to find my footing as a photographer, essentially find my voice and through my journey, I've found that and much more. At 28 I've found my SELF and a sense of purpose.
